1. Purpose of the Service
Plainfield Residents Directory is a privately run reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections related to Plainfield, New Jersey. It does not host government records and has no connection to a government office, court, library, or records custodian.
2. Permitted Use
Use this service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it or material reached through it to:
- Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm another person.
- Locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order.
- Commit fraud or identity theft.
- Make a decision regulated by the FCRA.
- Scrape, copy, or republish the content at scale.
- Interfere with the operation or security of the service.
3. No Consumer Reporting Agency
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. ยง 1681 et seq. Nothing here or returned through a linked tool is a consumer report, and it may not be used for any decision the FCRA regulates.
4. Outside Resources
Government portals, library collections, and sponsored search tools are separate services with their own terms, availability, pricing, and privacy practices. We do not control their content or operation.
5. No Guarantees
The service is offered as is and as available. We do not guarantee that material is complete, accurate, current, or continuously available, and a linked portal may change or fail.
6. Liability Limits
To the greatest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of this service or an external resource.
7. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from misuse of the service or a violation of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief attributed excerpt is permitted; systematic copying or full-page republication is not.
9. Term Updates
We may revise these terms by posting a new version here. Use after a revision constitutes acceptance of the posted terms.
10. Access Restrictions
We may limit or block access for a user who violates these terms or abuses the service, without prior notice.
11. New Jersey Law
These terms are governed by New Jersey law without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Requests for New Jersey public records are governed in relevant part by the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, P.L. 1963, c.73, as amended, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.
12. Severability
If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
